Happy Christmas!

Inspirational Tip

"And the Grinch, with his grinch-feet ice-cold in the snow,Stood puzzling and puzzling: 'How could it be so?'
It came without ribbons! It came without tags!
It came without packages, boxes or bags!
And he puzzled three hours, 'till his puzzler was sore.
Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before!
Maybe Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store.
Maybe Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more!”

Dr. Seuss (1904-1991) Beloved Cartoonist and Children's Book Author

Performance Tip

Ron Atchison, an inspirational writer, once said, "The best gifts don't come from catalogues or shopping malls and they're not sitting under a tree somewhere. The best gifts come from the heart." So how can you give a gift 'from the heart' in your organisation, team or family? Giving 'from the heart' means valuing people. It means taking thirty seconds out of your day to thank someone, or send them an email to show appreciation. In the workplace, it means remembering that people have a whole other life happening when they finish work for the day. It means getting out of the head (ego), and connecting with who someone truly is. When we do this, people light up. They become who they truly are. They perform at their best and everyone around them benefits.

When you are handing out Christmas presents and 'playing Santa' at work or home, remember to connect with the 'heart' of others. And watch your business, your team, your family and your performance soar.

Have a great new year!
