Until you value your time, you will not do anything with it."

Performance Tip

There are two main ways to organise your time and ensure you manage yourself at peak performance. The first is 'list writing' where you write a list of things which need to be done, systematically work through them and check them off as completed. This is a traditional form of time management and works best for the logical or masculine mind.

The second way is through mind mapping, which is mostly taught as a planning exercise. It works brilliantly for some people to assist them in managing day to day tasks. Simply ‘brainstorm’ all of the things you need to do that day. As with a list, once things are completed, you can 'check them off' by colouring in each section, to give you satisfaction around your achievements and maintain motivation.

Visually preferenced communicators may even prefer to allocate colours to specific tasks. The use of colour stimulates the creative part of the brain as well as memory, so it assists you in recalling things that need to be completed urgently. This form of time management tends to work better for the more creative or feminine mind.

If you are someone who finds you get to the end of the day and haven’t completed your 'list', you may like to experiment with mindmapping as a way to manage yourself, your life and your team more efficiently.

Have a happy week!
